Monel alloy comprises majorly of nickel as its core metal with other metals like copper, molybdenum, manganese, iron and chromium being secondary, when it comes to the use of the alloy for manufacturing several components and parts for the industrial setups. Monel alloy is a hard solid alloy despite, its two core metals copper and nickel being soluble in nature. Known for its work hardening property, use of dies helps in quick shaping and forming when the temperature goes down. Different grades of Monel alloy contains different additive metals like the K 500 grade, consisting of aluminum and titanium in its core structure, inevitably increasing its resistant against corrosion and other external factors.
Pipes and tubes forged from Monel can withstand any amount of corrosives and abrasives passed through them or around them due to increased resistance against several activities like flowing of harsh liquids or alkaline soluble solutions. Forged pipes and tubes come in Seamless Welded and other Assymetrical patterns of joints. Use of many other additive metals can be done to either increase the hardening quality of the pipes and tubes, or develop more resistance. Quick hardening makes it difficult to process Monel pipes so manual work process is much preferred such instances. Specification :
